Wickham Laboratories Ltd (WLL) are today pleased to announce their acquisition of new facilities in Hampshire. WLL have completed the purchase of the former Wyeth facilities in Barwell Lane Gosport. The site will be known as Hoeford Point and is on the border between Gosport and Fareham, near the A32. Facilities on the site are contained within six principle buildings, including security, warehousing and laboratory/office complexes. The main facility has a floor area 3911m2 (42,1000sq2 ft) over three floors. This building includes laboratories, a clean room complex and office suites. Some refurbishment will be carried out to upgrade the already high standard facilities in certain areas. Bill Cartmell, Managing Director and owner of Wickham Laboratories said; "After almost 50 years of continued growth and improvement, this move represents a major step forward in strengthening Wickham Laboratories position as a leading Contract Research Organisation operating in the international arena." Technical Director Chris Bishop; "These new facilities will allow us to offer a more diverse range of testing services to our clients. The expansion has been long planned and will put us in a position of strength to take the company forward, continuing to provide vital services to the medicine, healthcare and food industries. It is exciting for us to move to Gosport where significant investment is being made in the infrastructure and public transport. We hope we can make a positive contribution to the Borough and look forward to working with the local council and community." It is expected the new facilities will start to be used within the next month and will be fully operational within 6 months.
